A3 SPREAD POSTER

FINAL BuildAR VIDEO

DRAFT POSTER AND LAYOUT ANALYSIS

A layout for a article is essential to attract readers to be engaged to read the article. A professional layout will consist of a grid that will layout the article from size of images and the amount of text used. A large image called the money shot is the most important part for a successful article being able to grab the readers interest.
The above image money shot easily captures the readers interest with also 3 smaller images above to keep the reader more engaged.

The amount of text used is also a major factor for example if a set of text spans across the page horizontally will lose the readers attention because the readers eyes will shift across the page which is uncomfortable while reading.

White spaces can be a good and a bad thing in a articles layout. It can give the impression of professionally because how minimalistic and clean the layout looks. That being said it will also decrease the amount of information the article will have.

HABITAT AND ENVIRONMENT / RELECTION

The environment Ozumat resides is on the oceans depths, below are some examples of what ozumats environment will look like.

RELECTION

This assignment has been a experience that will help me in the next assignment. Comparing and giving general comments to peers about their assignment was a great way for me to help me better my assignment by learning from their mistakes and success. Each week i was challenged with a load of task that will affect the end result of my assignment whether if i did them or not.

My knowledge of technology has widened with the introduction of Augmented Reality. I had no background knowledge ofs AR until now and i can see that this program will be important for architecture career and learning wise. Using spore creature creator was very unusual at first but i came to accept it because of how it shows how far   people have come developing interaction with 3d objects even if it is a game.

Using spore also has widened my imagination by having to design the structure and environment it lives in.
Being able to freely sketch the environment helped me shape how my design would look like and it gave me some ideas on how to improve it.

I was lucky to have chosen Frank Gehry as my architect of choice, his designs are influentially unique and different compared to other architects. His designs have affected my assignment though his extensive use of curves and his interpretation of what architecture is.

Overall i am satisfied with the first assignment for comp1390 and looking forward to learn more from this course and to what else the course has to offer me educationally.

AUGMENTED REALITY INSPIRATION

The above video is a clear example of how augmented reality will affect society if introduced. The video shows a demonstration for augmented reality being performed by a minor. The propellers spinning is only a small part of what augmented reality can do.

MODEL PROGRESSION

BEFORE

AFTER
I believe my final design is a great improvement from my other designs. I kept the arc pillers and used them as a indication of a entrance of the design. Behind the entrance is the main space of the dwelling, i kept the space simple and large because i still wanted a free open space for Ozumat to climb and manoeuvre around his environment.

Behind the main space i created a ramp which gives access to a large rock that is being supported by pillars. I created these as a outdoor shelter and to be used to scout Ozumats surroundings.

ENVIRONMENT

DARK ABYSS - OZUMAT ENVIRONMENT SKETCH

On the deepest depths of the earth is an unknown world yet to be explored. This environment sketch inspired my creature Ozumat being a mysterious creature of the depths. My initial idea for the structure where Ozumat lives was a cave inside a mountain, from this idea i created a structure resembling a cave by it is actually a structure consisting of pillers and large curving walls.

This design was inspired by Frank Gehry's Experience Music Project. His design gives the impression of multiple buildings joined together to make one structure. I designed it to be a open space for Ozumat to climb and manoeuvre around in.  I had my tutor and a peer from my class talk about my design and they commented that it looked to busy and overall messy.

DEVELOPED SPORE CREATURES & EXPRESSIVE WORDS

Whelp - Unique species relating to dragons the whelp is a neutral creature that rarely seen because of the harsh environments it resides in.

The whelp only is able to live in the tallest of mountains which rare and exotic fruits grow Able to fly high long distances with its powerful wings, the whelp has no trouble travelling from mountain to mountain in search of food and shelter. What makes the whelp unique is similar to the chameleon it is able to change the colour tone of its body depending on the mood it is in for example it will turn bright red if threaten.

The whelp dislikes confined spaces and enjoys wide and open spaces to able to see its surroundings if it is in danger or not.
